SOAPware Maintenance when updating.

The information in this article applies to: Application of updates.

SITUATION

When you install a new version of SOAPware, code was written to have the installation override any old drivers\files with new drivers\files but in some instances these drivers\files meant to be overwritten are not.  In these instances, SOAPware may not perform as designed in which case, a simple maintenance procedure can be ran to correct these mistakes.

SOLUTION

  1. Create a Backup of your Databases; to insure no data will be lost.  Click here for "How to Backup"
  2. On the PC having the issue; goto - Control Panel > Add\Remove Programs > look to see if there are multiple versions of SOAPware listed > if multiple versions are present uninstall the older versions > select the old version > click Change\Remove & a window will come up asking to Modify\Repair\Remove  > select REMOVE > click Next until finished.
  3. To make certain that all old drivers\files have been removed; goto - Start > Run > type "c:\soapware" > click OK > this will take you to the SOAPware installation directory, if they remain delete the Support & NewDBs folder.
  4. Now we need to repair the last remaining SOAPware installation; goto - Control Panel > Add\Remove Programs > there should be only one version of SOAPware listed > select SOAPware > click Change\Remove a window will come up asking to Modify\Repair\Remove > click REPAIR > click Next until finished.
  5. Open SOAPware; any issues you were having should be resolved.
